George Washington University's Online Masters of Professional Studies in Security and Safety Leadership Launches Cyber Security Track
January 09, 2013
WASHINGTON – George Washington University University’s College of Professional Studies, in partnership with the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, has added a cyber security track to its Online Master of Professional Studies in Security and Safety Leadership program. Students now have the option of selecting either the cyber security or strategic security tracks.
The Security and Safety Leadership program prepares safety and security professionals with the requisite leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of current homeland security and cyber security policy, strategy and best practices.
Students will acquire strategic knowledge of cyber security as it relates to homeland security leadership, enhancing the implementation of cyber security practices in both private and public sectors. Classes are team-oriented and include field-based learning to provide real-life context. The fully online format allows working professionals the flexibility to balance their lives and careers while mastering skills that will build their future.
“We are delighted to add the cyber security track to our online program, allowing us to better reach leaders from all areas of law enforcement all over the country,” said Frederic Lemieux, director of the police science and safety and security leadership program. “This track provides students with knowledge of policy, legislation and mitigation strategies related to crime and conflict occurring in cyber space.”
