Apple CEO and Tech Pioneer Tim Cook to Deliver GW’s 2015 Commencement Address on the National Mall

Former acting chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health also to Receive Honorary Degrees

EVENT:
With the Washington Monument as a backdrop, more than 25,000 people, including approximately 6,000 undergraduate and graduate degree candidates, family members and guests, are expected to attend the George Washington University Commencement on the National Mall. 
 
WHO:
Apple CEO Tim Cook will deliver the keynote address and receive an honorary degree. 
GW President Steven Knapp will present honorary degrees.
Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health will receive an honorary degree and make remarks.
Carole M. Watson, Ph.D. '78, former acting chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities will receive an honorary degree and make remarks.
 
WHEN: 
Sunday, May 17; procession begins at 9:30 a.m. and ceremony begins at 10 a.m. 
Press access begins: 8 a.m.
 
WHERE: 
Press entrance: Media Tent at Constitution Avenue and 15th streets. Pick up credentials by 9:30 a.m. 
Live truck parking: Contact Maralee Csellar with requests. Parking is very limited.
Event Location: The National Mall on the grounds of Washington Monument between 15 and 17th Streets, NW.
