A Conversation with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus

EVENT:
The George Washington University will host an online conversation with Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and founder of the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. Yunus will discuss poverty, climate and unemployment with James Foster, the Oliver T. Carr, Jr. Professor of International Affairs and a professor of economics.

BACKGROUND:
In 2016, Yunus received the George Washington University’s President Medal, the highest honor the university’s president can bestow, for his pioneering work in creating economic development through microcredit. He is one of only seven individuals to have received the Nobel Peace Prize, the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the United States Congressional Gold Medal.
