With the U.S. Capitol as a backdrop, more than 25,000 people, including approximately 6,000 undergraduate and graduate degree candidates, family members and guests, are expected to attend the George Washington University Commencement on the National Mall. 
Humanitarian, Philanthropist and World-Renowned Chef José Andrés will deliver the keynote address and receive an honorary degree. 
GW President Steven Knapp will present honorary degrees.
Maudine R. Cooper, social justice advocate and retired Greater Washington Urban League executive, will receive an honorary degree and make remarks. 
W. Russell Ramsey, B.B.A. ’81, chairman emeritus of the GW Board of Trustees, and founder, chairman and CEO of Ramsey Asset Management, will receive an honorary degree and make remarks.
Sunday, May 18; procession begins at 9:30 a.m. and ceremony begins at 10 a.m. 
General press access begins: 8 a.m.
Press entrance: Madison Drive between 12th and 14th Streets NW (directed on-site).

Event: The National Mall, between 7th and 14th Streets NW.
