Nuclear Security Summit to Convene: GW Experts Available to Comment

More than 50 world leaders will attend the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit at The Hague March 23 to March 26. The following George Washington University experts are available to discuss the summit, international security and nuclear nonproliferation:

Michael E. Brown,dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs, is an expert on international security. He is the co-editor of a series of International Security readers including, “Going Nuclear: Nuclear Proliferation and International Security in the 21st Century.”

Janne Nolan, research professor of international affairs, is an expert on international security. She also chairs the Nuclear Security Working Group, a bipartisan group of senior foreign policy experts working to build consensus on pressing arms control and nuclear security issues.

Deepa Ollapally, research professor of international affairs, is an expert on nuclear nonproliferation. Her research focuses on domestic foreign policy debates in India and its implications for regional security and global leadership of the U.S.

Douglas B. Shaw, assistant professor of international affairs, is an expert on nonproliferation and arms control and U.S. foreign and national security policy process. At the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, he was commended by former President Bill Clinton for his involvement with the successful global diplomatic campaign to indefinitely extend the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
