Statement Regarding Injured Student at GW Residence Hall

We are very sad to report that around 4 p.m. today, a female undergraduate student was injured in a fall from a ninth floor window of a George Washington University residence hall, located at 616 23rd St. NW.  The injured junior was taken to a local hospital where she is being treated for injuries. The student’s family has been notified about the incident.

The Metropolitan Police Department is on the scene and investigating. George Washington University Police are assisting with the investigation. At this time, we have no indication that the incident was the result of a criminal act.

Students who have academic concerns can reach out to their academic advisers. Those concerned about a member of the GW community can complete a CARE Network Report form.
