2024 Global Korea Forum

Trilateral Cooperation and the Korean Peninsula: The U.S., South Korea, and Japan Partnership

WHAT:

Please join the George Washington University's Institute of Korean Studies in the 2024 Global Korea Forum to discuss three topics with a focus on the benefits and challenges of trilateral cooperation. The first session will discuss how the Korean peninsula fits into the regional and global order, particularly following the U.S. presidential election. The second session will analyze sanctions and deterrence toward the DPRK, especially given the North’s cyber activities and recently strengthened trilateral U.S.-ROK-Japan cooperation. The last session will explore avenues for promoting North Korean citizens’ access to information and their human rights in the DPRK, as well as while working overseas, escaping, and resettling.
