EVENT:
The George Washington University’s Center for Cyber and Homeland Security and Program on Extremism will co-host an event examining the methods the French government uses to combat crime and radicalization, featuring Muriel Domenach, secretary general of the Interagency Committee for the Prevention of Crime and Radicalization in France. The discussion will be moderated by Frank Cilluffo, director of GW’s Center for Cyber and Homeland Security, and Seamus Hughes, deputy director of GW’s Program on Extremism.

BACKGROUND:
Ms. Domenach has held her current position since August 2016 and previously served in a variety of senior positions with the French government on issues of national security and international affairs. In a recent opinion piece published in le Monde, Ms. Domenach described evolving approaches to de-radicalization and the importance of prevention in France.
