GW’s School of Business Announces Reduced Tuition for Fired Federal Workers and Contractors

March 31, 2025

WASHINGTON — The George Washington School of Business is launching a program to offer tuition assistance for the thousands of federal workers and contractors impacted by the current administration’s push to shrink the government workforce.

This benefit was created with the intention of including government contractors, whose employers may have had to lay off hundreds of employees.

To help ease career transitions, the school is offering a 20% tuition discount to prospective graduate students impacted in 2025.

Eligible individuals must complete an admissions application by June 1, 2025 and provide a copy of a dismissal letter from an federal agency or organization contracted to provide services to the federal government. The benefit applies to workers who were laid off since January 1, 2025, and lasts for the entirety of the time the student is in the program to which they applied.

This initiative highlights the school’s commitment to expanding opportunities to professionals as they explore new opportunities in the private sector and beyond.
