Media Tip Sheet on 2024 Holiday Travel: 90% of Holiday Travelers to Hit the Road this Season

WASHINGTON (December 16, 2024) – AAA is forecasting over 119 million people will be traveling for the holidays, starting Saturday, December 21, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Most people will be taking road trips, with 90% of travelers this year hitting the road. However, air travel is supposed to break records this season, with 7.85 million passengers taking a plane to their holiday destination. AAA says that number surpasses the previous record of 7.5 million air travelers last year.
