Media Tip Sheet: August Primaries in Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Washington

August 2, 2022

Voters head to the polls today in Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Washington to decide primary elections and state constitution amendments with national implications. Among the key races to watch are Arizona’s Republican Senate and gubernatorial primaries, Missouri’s GOP Senate nomination, and a constitutional referendum that could determine the future of abortion access in Kansas.

Casey Burgat and Todd Belt, professors and program directors at the GW Graduate School of Political Management, and Christopher Warshaw, associate professor of political science, are available to provide insight, context, and commentary on the important elections taking place today and explain how the results of those state elections could reverberate across the country.
