Media Tip Sheet: Biden Administration Wipes Loans for First Batch of SAVE Borrowers

WASHINGTON (February 21, 2024)— The federal Education Department cleared out student loan balances from over 150,000 borrowers on Wednesday. These borrowers were individuals that have been paying their student loans for at least 10 years, borrowed $12,000 or less, and enrolled in the Biden administration’s new repayment plan, SAVE.
