Media Tip Sheet: CDC Considers Updating Covid-19 Vaccine Recommendations

April 22, 2025

The CDC might be moving away from a blanket recommendation when it comes to annual COVID-19 vaccines.

The revised recommendation the CDC is considering would recommend individuals who are 65 and older or have compromised immune to receive two shots each year.

A formal vote on the recommendation is expected in June.

The George Washington University has experts available who can offer insight and analysis. If you would like to schedule an interview, please contact Katelyn Deckelbaum, [email protected].

Michael Knight is an assistant professor of medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He can discuss Covid-19 vaccines.
