WASHINGTON (January 3, 2023)—After almost a century of being under Copyright, Mickey Mouse in in the Public Domain. Disney has lobbied the US governemnt to keep its copyright protection twice. In 1998, it successfully extended the copyright protection to life of the author plus 70 years for a maximum of 95 years, which just expired.
