WASHINGTON(August 16, 2023)— August means back to school, and Florida’s public school education faces yet another change. In July, the Florida Board of Education approved of new standards for teaching African American history, the first recorded change in nearly 20 years. The new curriculum was and continues to be under criticism, especially between Vice President Kamala Harris and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
