New research has found that people with obesity got a big benefit when they worked out in the evening: They were 28% less likely to die of any cause compared to study participants who exercised in the morning or afternoon.

While the new study suggests some interesting benefits to jogging or swimming at night, researchers say that for most people timing is not as important as getting up off the couch!

Experts recommend that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise every week but most people get far less than that amount. The George Washington University has experts available to discuss all aspects of physical activity and health. To interview an expert please contact Kathy Fackelmann, kfackelmannatgwu [dot] edu.
