More than a dozen states and Washington D.C. are suing the Trump Administration after laying off thousands of Health and Human Services employees.

The lawsuit, filed Monday and led by New York State Attorney General Letitia James, is seeking to prevent the dismantling of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The lawsuit alleges that restructuring this agency endangers public health.

HHS is aiming to cut its workforce by 25%.
