Media Tip Sheet: Polluters Will Be Forced To Pay for PFAS cleanup

WASHINGTON (April 19, 2024) - Polluters will now be forced to pay for PFAS cleanup, a move that came from the Biden administration. 

EPA officials said they will hold those responsible who contribute to the release of PFAS into the environment. This also includes companies that manufacture PFAS or use it in the manufacturing processes.

PFAS, which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a class of chemicals found in a range of consumer products such as Teflon pans, waterproof apparel and cosmetics.
