WASHINGTON(January 31, 2023)—Tensions are rising for a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan. Reuters reports, “When U.S. and Australian troops practiced amphibious landings, ground combat and air operations last summer, they drew headlines about the allies deepening defense cooperation to counter China's growing military ambitions.”

Bruce Dickson is a Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the GW Elliott School of International Affairs. Dickson is an expert on U.S.-China relations, Chinese domestic politics, regimes and regime changes, and general comparative politics.
