Media Tip Sheet: Russia’s Vladimir Putin Expected to Travel to Beijing This Week

Russia’s Vladimir Putin is expected to travel to Beijing this week to meet with China’s Xi Jinping and attend a forum marking 10 years of the Belt and Road Initiative, which is China’s global infrastructure program that has helped boost its influence worldwide, according to Politico. The visit is also expected to underscore China’s support for Russia during its war in Ukraine.

Robert Sutter is a Professor of Practice of International Affairs at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs.
