The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled five million swimming pools linked to the death of nine children.
It was reported, children were gaining access to the pools using footholds even if the ladder was removed.
Drowning is the number one cause of death for children one to four years old in the United States, according to the CDC.
Data from the CDC shows an estimated 4,000 unintentional drownings happen each year.
