An exclusive report by Reuters is detailing how the U.S. government in recent months launched an operation to fight a pervasive Chinese hacking operation that successfully compromised thousands of internet-connected devices. According to Reuters, the U.S. is increasingly focusing on hacking, amid concerns of interference in upcoming elections and in response to the impacts of ransomware attacks on U.S. corporations last year.
This report comes as FBI Director Christopher Wray is expected today to warn that Chinese hackers are preparing to “wreak havoc and cause real-world harm” to the U.S., CNN reported.
