Media Tip Sheet: The Washington Post Quiz Reveals Americans are Still Making Sunscreen Mistakes

A new Washington Post quiz highlights a timely summer health issue: many people are still making common mistakes when it comes to sunscreen - from how much to apply and when to reapply to misconceptions about SPF, indoor UV exposure and melanoma warning signs.

Dermatologists at the George Washington University are available to help audiences separate sunscreen myths from facts and explain the simple habits that can significantly reduce skin cancer risk and premature skin aging.

Vishal Patel is an associate professor of dermatology at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the director of the Cutaneous Oncology Program at the GW Cancer Center.

Adam Friedman is the chair of dermatology at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Pooja Sodha, is the director for the center for laser and cosmetic dermatology at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
