Media Tip Sheet: The Window Seat Lawsuit

July 8, 2026

WASHINGTON (July 8, 2026) – A federal judge has allowed a proposed class-action lawsuit against United Airlines to move forward after passengers alleged they paid extra for window seats that had no actual windows.

The case focuses on whether airlines should be expected to clearly disclose premium seat features and accurately represent what travelers are purchasing.

Jungho Suh, a teaching assistant professor of management at the George Washington University School of Business, can discuss supplemental airline fees, consumer seat selection expectations, and how transparency on booking platforms shapes traveler trust and airline reputation. His research focuses on sustainability, consumer behavior, and digital platforms in tourism and hospitality.
