NATO Military Leader to Speak at GW on Projecting Stability in Europe

EVENT:
NATO’s highest-ranking military leader, Gen. Denis Mercier, will speak about the international organization’s role in Europe and the world at an event at the George Washington University. Gen. Mercier will join GW Elliott School of International Affairs Dean Reuben E. Brigety II for an event titled “NATO's Adaptation and Projecting Stability,” which will examine topics including the possible threat posed by Russia.
 
Gen. Mercier joined NATO following a distinguished career in the French Air Force as a fighter pilot and later a leader on various fronts. He served as a senior adviser to the French defense minister from 2010 through 2012 and became the chief of staff for the French Air Force in 2012.
