Media Tip Sheet: Albertsons Sues Kroger over Failed Merger

WASHINGTON (December 11, 2024)— Two judges halted the Kroger-Albertsons Merger yesterday in separate court cases concluding it would lessen competition in the market and The Associated Press reports that “ the Federal Trade Commission sued to block the merger earlier this year, saying it would raise prices and lower workers’ wages by eliminating competition.”

As of this morning, Albertsons is suing the grocery retailer Kroger for the failed merger.
