WASHINGTON (April 23, 2025)- The Empire Wind project, a U.S. offshore wind power project, off the coast of New York has been paused. U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum announced the stop order on X last week citing “further review of information suggested the Biden administration rushed through its approval without sufficient analysis.”
The project began in November 2023 to construct two facilities that Reuters reported was projected to provide enough electricity to power 700,000 homes a year.
