WASHINGTON (April 28, 2025)— D.C.and the Washington Commanders reached a $3.7 billion deal to move the football team into the district and transform the “crumbling” RFK Stadium. The deal still needs to be approved by Council.

The Washington Post reported, “The team and city are hoping to move quickly, and plan to begin construction next year and have the new stadium open for the 2030 season.”
