WASHINGTON (August 20, 2025)- The Texas State House is scheduled to vote on a proposed new congressional election map this Wednesday. The redistricting plan would add five new congressional districts and would help the GOP in midterm elections. The initiative has drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers, some of whom have chosen to leave the state in protest.
