WASHINGTON (September 12, 2025) – Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters has amassed 291.5 million views since its June 20 release, surpassing Squid Game Season 1 (265.2 million views) and Wednesday Season 1 (252.1 million views) to become the platform’s most-watched movie ever.

Additionally, the movie’s soundtrack single, Golden, has held the Number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.

“KPop Demon Hunters becoming Netflix’s most-watched movie, alongside its soundtrack Golden topping the Billboard Hot 100, reflects more than a pop-culture milestone—it symbolizes South Korea’s cultural renaissance. Its global success shows how Korean storytelling and music can transcend borders to become universal experiences, while also reshaping the economics of the entertainment industry” said Professor Suh.
