Media Tip Sheet: Listeria Found in Walmart and Trader Joe’s Meals

September 30, 2025

Heat-and-eat pasta meals sold at Walmart and Trader Joe’s may be contaminated with the same strain of listeria linked to a deadly outbreak earlier this year.

Four people have died and at least 20 have been sickened, with new products now under public health alerts.

This includes Trader Joe’s Cajun Style Blackened Chicken Breast Fettuccine Alfredo sold in 16-ounce plastic trays and Marketside Linguine with Beef Meatballs & Marinara Sauce sold at Walmart.
