WASHINGTON (April 15, 2026) – Anthropic’s new AI model Mythos, is noted as their most capable model for coding and automated tasks, but this system could expose financial institutions to cyber risks. Due to IT interconnections, many banks use the same vendors and solutions–these connections could multiply breaches.
Government officials in the United States, Canada and Britain have met with top banking officials to discuss the threats posed by Mythos. Although Anthropic Claude Mythos' preview will not be made generally available, they invited major tech companies and banking institutions like JPMorgan Chase to privately evaluate the model and prepare defenses accordingly.
GW experts are available for analysis on these developments.
