Japanese Cybersecurity Official to Speak at GW

EVENT:
Yasuhiko Taniwaki, the director-general for information security at the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, will speak about Japan's cybersecurity policy and strategy at the George Washington University. The event, hosted by the GW Center for Cyber and Homeland Security, will include a discussion about the potential for enhanced cybersecurity cooperation between Japan and the United States. Mr. Taniwaki will also discuss collaborative efforts between Japan’s public and private sectors, and internationally, against the broader backdrop of preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In addition, he will highlight the most recent efforts by the ministry to ensure Internet of Things security and tackle automated and distributed attacks, such as botnets. The event will include a question-and-answer session.
