WASHINGTON(September 28, 2023)—The U.S. government has three day to reach a bipartisan deal that would halt a government shutdown. A select group of “hard-right” House Republicans seem to be blocking the support in order to have their needs met. Current House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is quoted saying “This is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down.”
