According to a newly released report from the Department of Defense, the Pentagon has investigated 183 occurrences of extremism within military ranks. Such occurrences include “advocating for, engaging in, or supporting the overthrow of the U.S. Government or seeking to alter the form of the Government by unconstitutional or other unlawful means.”
Of the 183 total cases, 14 Army investigations are looking into “advocating or engaging in unlawful force or violence to achieve goals that are political, religious, discriminatory, or ideological in nature” while another 43 Army investigations will look into those accused of “advocating, engaging in, or supporting terrorism within the United States or abroad.”
