WASHINGTON (February 19, 2025) – In an era of political polarization, how do we visualize the meaning of freedom in America today?
The Corcoran School of Arts and Design at the George Washington University, in collaboration with For Freedoms and the National Gallery of Art, presents a timely exhibition that seeks to answer this question. "The Four Freedoms Photographs" reimagines Norman Rockwell's iconic World War II-era paintings through a contemporary lens, featuring a diverse cast of modern Americans.
Key points:
- Exhibition runs February 7 - April 12, 2025
- Features work by acclaimed artists Hank Willis Thomas and Emily Shur
- Part of For Freedoms' three-year residency in Washington, D.C.
