University Statement on BDS and recent MESA vote

The university’s policy on the BDS movement is very clear: GW does not support divestment, academic boycotts, or other actions called for by BDS. The recent vote by the independent Middle East Studies Association (MESA) on the BDS resolution is not a statement of GW’s position as an institution. MESA is an independent legal entity (501c3), and it is not a GW organization. GW faculty affiliated with MESA may express their opinions on a variety of issues. The university prioritizes the wellbeing of every member of the GW community and encourages an inclusive environment that fosters open, respectful dialogue.
