Media Tip Sheet: UN Demands Cease Fire in Gaza

WASHINGTON (March 27, 2024)—The United Nations Security Council issued its first demand to halt the fighting in Gaza on Monday, calling for a cease-fire during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The vote drew an immediate protest from the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Subsequently Netanyahu canceled a planned visit to DC in protest.
