WASHINGTON (April 17, 2024)—Venezuela has closed its embassy in Ecuador. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro ordered the embassy and consulates closure on Tuesday in solidarity with Mexico in its protest over a raid by Ecuadorian authorities on the Mexican Embassy in Quito.
